VCB offline Oracle backup problem

Dear community, i have a problem with a vcb backup of Oracle database. There are two servers, one is the aplication server and the other is the database server.

I use pre-freeze and post-thaw scripts to shut down the Oracle instance and bring it back after the snapshot creation. But after this operation, the aplication

server cannot contact with the oracle server, the following error appears: The only way for me to bring it back to work was to restart the db server. This problem does not appear, when i manually run the scripts (bringing the database down and up) before the snapshot of vm and after it's created. The scripts works for sure, as i put the output to the log file to verify if they are launched (located in C:\Windows directory). I also disabled the Sync driver, but it didn't help neither. I added also some delays to the scripts (i.e using ping 127.0.0.1 -n 120 command), without success. I use Oracle 10g, ESX server 3.0.1, VMTools 32039, VCB 1.5. I was google for an solution, but could not find any. Any help will be much appreciated!

Can you add to your script to restart the listner service. The listner service can be manually restarted and it is not neccessary to restart the machine to do so.

Phil
