Hello,
I've downloaded ESX 3.5 and burn it on a CD
I can boot on the CD, i can chose language (french for me), keyboard but after that, i have an error message : Installation CD can not be detected on the CD Drive...
Same problem with another server...
Is it a pb with the file ?
Thanks for help
I've downloaded and installed without issue so it's not the source.
When you boot the server, select the option to test the media.
Also, try burning another CD. And download a new copy of the file.

During the installation process, you can use to option check CD Rom to be sure the CD is well burning.
Best Regards
First check the MD5 checksum of the ISO image.
Are you using IDE CDrom or SATA? I've heard SATA CD-ROM (not disks) could give you problems.

It was a media error...
Thank you everybody !
I had the same problem, I think everyone thrashing the download may have caused a few corrupt .iso images, I just re-downloaded it.
Actually I think the problem may in part be the internet its-self, specifically the transatlantic, and/or transpacific cable loading. We are seeing a lot of ISO image corruption issues between various sites in the domestic US and Europe and Asia. For example, we have offices in Hong Kong, and the local IT guys have to try to download ISOs 3 or sometimes 4 times to get an ISO that results in a valid md5 sum.
We have moved ISO images, changed servers, around in various places in the domestic US with no issues, but the minute the route cross long distance trunk lines, for example Asia or Europe, we see these weird issues.
