Unable to access to Remote console - ESX 3.5 -

Hi all,

using my VMware Infrastructure Client I'm not able to connect to VM's console.

The VI Client return the following error: "Error Connecting: Error connecting to authd on host myhost.mydomain. Do you want to try again?"

All other feature works fine.

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

Sounds like a service is not running on your ESX host. Can you reboot the ESX Server?

If you're running the classic ESX 3.5 and not ESXi, try the restarting the management agent:

service mgmt-vmware restart

Certain times the hostd agent may hang or other processes that may cause some unexpected behavior. This command will not affect any running VM(s)

I may sound dumb but I just want to confirm -

you are connecting to your virtual center or ESX host using Vi Client and thats where you get an error while connecting to console for any VM's running on any host?

Is this ESX3.5 if recently been upgraded from ESX 3.0? then add vmauthd.server.alwaysProxy=TRUE in /etc/vmware/config

Hi,

thanks a lot!

Upgrading to a newer version the VI Client addressed the issue.
