Unable to access server through browser

I have an ESX 3.0.1 server and it is connected to a hub and then into the networ and I am unable to ping or access the ESX server through the browser

Did you double check and verify the network settings and what happens fromm the SC if you try ping other servers or a trace route

I am not sure what to check or how really, One coworker said I need to request IP's and then configure the eth1 setting with the ip, dns, gateway etc. But I am not sure if that is correct

It sounds like this is just for testing/learning, so perhaps you can start by plugging a laptop into that hub, reboot the laptop, and see if you get an address from DHCP. From the command prompt (start | run | cmd), you can do an 'ipconfig /all' to see your network info, if any.

If you get that, then we can walk you through the next steps for the host. Of course, the best thing is to make the request to get an IP address, so we don't cause any conflicts (but those network guys are slooowww!).

BTW, are you doing a fresh build of ESX from scratch?
