UP HAL VM changes to SMP VM if vCPU changes from 1 to 2

Hi,

If i create VM with 1vCpu, install OS then it will UP HAL VM. Now if shutdown the VM and start it with 2vCpus then OS will be still UP HAL or it will detect the change and switches to SMP mode automatically or need manual configuration change.

IF you go from 1 to 2 the HALL will be upgraded automatically. But if you go back it will not be downgraded, this you will have to do yourself by hand.

Thanks for answering. Wheather this also depends on OS version (Kernel version in linux case). or it applies to all OS type and all versions.
