Hi Friends,

I have one HP Server with the following configuration,

Intel Xeon CPU 5160, 3 GHz, Duel Core

model HP Proliant BL 460 G1

I have installed ESXi 3 on this blade and trying to create a virtual machine with windows 2003 server enterprise edition 64 Bit. On the same i am not able to install OS, it is giving this error

"Attempting to load an x64 operating system, however this CPU is not compatible with x64 mode. Please install a 32-bit x86 operating system. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit."

Please help

Within the BIOS of the blade you will need to enable Virtualization Technology - it's within the processor advanced options somewhere I think from memory.

hi,

In order to use 64 bit windows systems on ESX you need to go into the bios on the physical server and enable "intel virtualization technology"

After setting this BIOS switch, power off the machine. Just a reboot won't do it.
