SCSI tape drive on ESX 3.0.1

I just attached a new SCSI LTO-2 tape drive to my esx server. I see the SCSI card, but don't see the tape drive under it in Virtual Center > Storage Adapters.

I rebooted the host and the tape drive is recognized during POST.

I attempted to add the SCSI card to the virtual machine, but it tells me that there are "no non-disk SCSI devices available on the host"

Does anyone know what I need to do to have the host recognize the tape drive?

Thanks.

You need to attach the tape to an Adaptec controller and present a generic SCSI device to the VM

Thanks to both of you. That worked. It's up and running.
