I need some help. I have an infrastructure with VMware ESX 3.0.2 (IBM Servers x3950) and VC 2.0.2 with external Oracle DB 10.0.2.3.
We are trying to upgrade the VC from 2.0.2 to 2.5U1. At the end of upgrade process the "VMware Database Upgrade Wizard" begin the procedure to upgrade the database to VC 2.5U1 version, this process seems to be frozen, we don´t see any progress in this process. In VirtualCenter server console we just see the progress of this activity freeze and no status change. We tried to understand what´s happening and we checked the activities and process in Oracle Database Server, we found some process working and we found the process stop when tried to create a table "VPX_HIST_STAT4".
We checked the activities in VCDatabaseUpgrade.log (attached), in this file we found the process "hist_stats_upgrade_proc_oracle.sql". Following this process in Oracle Server we found that some activities in this process don´t finish but the Wizard didn´t said anything about that.
We would like to know what is the problem before rebuild the infrastructure with a new database for VI 3.5U1.
Any idea or suggestion about this ?
