Not able to access my newly installed ESX 3.0 HOST

HI ,

I installed a ESX 3.0 Host . Its pinging but not able to access using either VI or webAccess. If i am trying trough web getting error " Page cannot display" if through VI or trying to add in VC ,getting error "Unable to access the specified host, it either does not exist, the server is not responding or there is a network problem " . Please help

Have you tried to connect by both FQDN and IP?

Any security or forewall type of applicance that might be blocking ports?

I had this problem early this week - was an issue with the storage.....initially thought it was the FC mezz card of the blade but ended up being the SAN.

What troubleshooting steps have you perfomed so far?

Have you presented storage to this host?

there is no SAN in use right now

I am able to ping and both ESX HOST AND VC is conected to same swith ,i mean there is no any firewall in use

What happens when you are sitting at the console and trying to log in as root?

HI i am able to login through console and userid root

So so your trying to log in the server via ssh with the root account. Is this correct? If it is root access by default, disabled. The best thing you can do is to create another account to connect with and then use "su -" to change to root
