No upgrade option when attempting to upgrade from ESX 3.0.2 to 3.5

I'm presently running ESX 3.02, when boot off from the 3.5 CD I do not get an upgrade option, any thoughts?

If the CD-option doesn't work, you can always upgrade to 3.5 using the zip-file and esxupdate, or the tar.gz-file with it's installationscript.

It should be there, after picking the language and mouse the next screen should be Select Installation Type ( Upgrade or Insall ). I have just gone through a 3.0.2 upgrade to 3.5 from the 3.5 ISO and it worked fine.

I submitted a ticket regarding, we tried a couple of thing, we still could not find the cause. I didn't want to spend to much time on this, so I upgraded via esxupdate, it worked fine.

I had the same problem when I tried to upgrade one of our boxes. Never could figure out what the problem was. I ended up using the esxupdate with the tarball and it worked great.

Don't get it, I had no issue with the ISO updated, but good thing there was another way to do the upgrade using esxupate
