Migrating ESX 2.5.2 hosts to VC 2.x from VC 1.3 and back!

We are just about to migrate our ESX 2.5.2 hosts into a clean installation of VC 2.0.2 from VC 1.3. VMware have confirmed that this is supported and we have converted the necessary license files. My question is, if we experience any problems with VC 2.0.2 can I remove the ESX 2.5.2 hosts and re-introduce them to VC 1.3?

If your aim is to end up at ESX3 then have a look at esxMigrator.

It takes a lot of the risk out of the migration process as it doesnt touch the source, therfore you could always rollback...

Sadly I do not have the budget to look at ESXmigrator. I'm only asking the question in the context of moving ESX 2.5.2 hosts between VC2.0.2 and VC1.3.
