Migrate Novell 6.5 4 node cluster to our new ESX 3.5 SAN

We currently have a 4 node Novell 6.5 cluster attached to a MSA1000 SAN.

We have just installed a new HP EVA 4000 SAN. With 4 Vmware ESX 3.5 hosts connected to the eva 4000 using HA and DRS

1) What i would like to know is how is the best way to migrate the data from our existing SAN to our new SAN ?

2) What is the best way to migrate our Novell servers accross to our new Virtualised infrastructure?

3) How many vmware machine nodes can you have clustered in Vmware esx 3.5 for Novell 6.5 ?

Thanks

Andrew

How much data are we asking about? We used BartPe to convert our novell cluster from physical to virtual.

I would imagine that it would handle it, I personally did 500 gigs with the software. It took a while. I am not going to lie.

what about doing a san mirroring/copying, and then attach the volumes as RDM

Gidday, I can highly recommend Portlock's Storage Manager (http://www.portlock.com/) for P>V of your NetWare infrastructure.

I have no idea about vmware node limits, but I suspect it would be limited only by your host hardware and/or Novell cluster limits - and with HA & DRS, you may well want to review the size of your cluster anyway (depending of course on why you clustered in the first place.)

Cheers
