Two Node Microsoft Cluster , using two VM’s on two ESX server 3.5 (MSCS on VM’s across the ESX Server having Shared LUN.)
I had taken reference from Setup for Microsoft Cluster Service ESX Server 3.0.1 and Virtual Center 2.0.1
But it is not happening, one node cluster is going smoothly but when I am trying to start second node, I am getting file locked error and my second VM is not powering on. Any suggestion on this.
Are you using RDMs for the shared disks (this is a requirement) and if so do you have them in physical (recommeded) or virtual compatability mode?
HI Dave,
Thanks for this information. Can we get document which can give step by step information abt this configuration. I am referring Microsoft Cluster configuration on VM document but it is very precise and not giving detail information. Pl. help to get detail document.

Hi there - according to the 3.5 release notes (Link to ESX 3.5 release notes) Microsoft clusters are not (yet) supported....
Maybe thats why its not going to plan....
Cheers!
MSCS is not supported in 3.5. This could explain the reasons you are having problems.

Does anyone knows the reason why VMware does not support MSCS on ESX 3.5?
