How do you chang the MAC of the service console

Hi Guys,

Check the forums and could find any posts on how to chang the MAC of the service console. I want to clone the ESX 3.02 OS on many systems. I have changed the IP address of the service console but the MAC address is identicial on all the machines. Is there a way to force the service console MAC to change?

Hello,

you could delete and recreate the service console from the command line using esxcfg-vswif

Tried deleting the vswif0 and creating it. It comes back with the same MAC address

It's been a while since I booted ESX 3.5... You can try to modify /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-vswif50, it may just work.
