Other than this error - does everything look ok? What version of ESX 3.x are you using?

I get this too on a BL460c. I've only started getting this message since I added the second quad-core processor. I've even tried blowing the OS away and reinstalling ESX but I get the same message.

Thanks. I was thinking of ignoring them anyway but it's always helpful to have a justification for doing so!
It's like assembling IKEA furniture, just throw the surplus 2 bits away...

Hi,
am I glad I found this thread...I have the same issue...those red letters on the console always seem so freightening...
I have an HP Blade 20p with 2 Quad-Core CPU's. I checked the stepping (using the HP Management Homepage) and noticed the first CPU to be Step 7 and the one we added to be Step 11.
I notice 8 CPU's in the VI Client so it looks good.

Yep you are right!
I've installed a cpu with the same stepping and no more error on my console
