Enabling SNMP Server in ESX 3.5

When I try to enable the SNMP Service, I get the following error:

"Failure Due to a malformed request to the server"

Any help would be appreciated

Have you opened the port in the firewall?

Configuration > Security profile > SNMP Server

That is what I am trying to do

Did you install any other management software in the console? The HP SIM agent for ESX automatically opens this port by default, but that is not reflected through the VI Client.

I did install the HP SIM agent. Thanks for the quick response. I guess since it is already configured, it just throws out an error when you try and enable it through the client
