Hi Guys,
Is it possible to customise the default permissions ?
Basically I need members of our network team to see the network configuration of the ESX servers, however by selecting the 'Read Only' permission does not give them the rights they require.
From looking through I would like to give them 'DataCenter Administrator' permissions but then customise this further, but all the 'ticks' are greyed out.
Is this possible?
Thanks
First create a NEW role (administration settings).
Then bind this new role to users or group.

Hi Andre, thanks for the quick response.
How do I go about creating a new role?
Thanks
Hello,
To a certain extent you can do this. However, you need to be careful of which roles you give the network team anything you give them, they can 'change' everywhere. There is no just 'read-only' mode for networking. Do you want to give per VM roles for the networking folks or just vSwitch roles? THere are quite a few things you can setup for them.
