ESX Kickstart question

Ok, I setup a kickstart and it works great. But when I switched and started using 3.02 I started getting a directory tree does not match error. I can boot to the 3.01 iso and install from 3.02 on the nfs. Obviously I made a change to my 3.01 iso 6 months ago and can't remember what it was to replicate it on the 3.02. Anyone have an idea?

Hello,

You need to use the kernel/image disks from the 3.02 ISO in order to boot against a 3.0.2 tree. The same holds true for 3.0.1.

Best regards,

Edward

Actually, no. I can use the 3.01 iso mounted locally and boot against the 3.02 tree and install 3.02. But I can't boot to the 3.02 iso and install against the very same 3.02 iso on the NFS share.
