ESX Agent triggering DRS HA from Sun?

This might be a Sun question but is there an agent out there be installed on an ESX 3.0 server (Sun x4440 or x4600), which will trigger a VMware DRS HA event if a hardware failure is detected that reduces the redundancy of the system, or will require downtime to repair?

hi Ironmantom,

DRS or HA?

  • HA is triggered (by default) when service console IP is not reachable from "master HA" ESX host(s)

  • DRS is triggered based on DRS "rules" (number of stars)

the only way to trigger HA is an host failure or network isolation during a lapse of time...

I think that probably you can trigger a vMotion of machines scripting with powershell (with a script that poll for HW failure...maybe...)

I don't know if this resolve your question... pls be more specific.
