ESX 3.5 on Poweredge 6800

Im trying to install a ESX 3.5 eval version on a poweredge 6800, but the installation process got stuck at the "Searching for VMware ESX Server Installations..."

That server has 2 partitions, both with a ext3 fs, one of them has a RHEL5 64bits installation, the other one has some VMs like windows2003 and some esx vms.

Any ideas of what could be happening?

My guess is that ESX doesn't play well with other installs on the same disk. Reformat and try the install then. Smiley Happy

that did it.

boot with knoppix, reformat sda1 (the one with the old os) , install esx without problems.

too bad that there's no option at the boot prompt to bypass the verification of previous esx installations.

thanks for the help
