Hi,
I've download VMware ESX Server 3.0.1.
I've burn the iso.file into a dvd disc.
But i have problem installing it. When i put the disc inside the PC, it does not seem to detect the disc.
Currently i have install the ESXi into the PC. So i wanted to over-write the ESXi to ESX 3.0.
Anyone can clear my doubt pls.
Thanks!
stupid question but have you (just to test it) tried it in another server?
I'm sorry for being so stupid. Yup, i try in vmware workstation. But it seems like dun work.
download the image again and run the MD5 check against it to verify. also 3.0.1 is quite an old release, perhaps you would be better off downloading the eval of 3.5.

Can i check with you.
If i'm able to install ESXi (but due to network card, it canot work), will i be facing prob install ESX 3.5?
Thanks.
check all your HW against the VMware 3.5 HCL all the documents are on http://www.vmware.com/support/pubs/vi_pages/vi_pubs_35u2.html
as Romano says check your hardware against the HCL, however if the network card will not work in ESXi then it will not work in ESX, they share the same code base.
