ESX 3.0 on Sun Fire x4600 Server

I am having trouble installing ESX 3.0.2 on a Sun Fire x4600 Server. The "vmkernel" keeps failing and the OS goes into the "Service Console running in Fallback". Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you checked the logs for error messages/codes? That would be the first place I would look to find a root cause. Also, make sure you have the latest firmware/BIOS updates on the server. I've installed 3.0.2 on x4600 servers with minimal problems in the past (a disk error... fixed with a firmware or driver update, can't remember which one).
