Does anyone backup their service console with Legato??

I know this is kind of strange but my boss wants to backup the service console and I'm kind of curious if anyone else has done this. Legato has a Linux client but it fails on several dependencies and I don't know if I add these dependencies whether it will interfere with vmware esx.

Here is output from my initial attempt.

rpm -ivh lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1.i686.rpm

error: Failed dependencies:

libICE.so.6 is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

libSM.so.6 is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

libX11.so.6 is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

libXext.so.6 is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

libXmu.so.6 is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

libXt.so.6 is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

libGL.so.1 is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

libXi.so.6 is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

libXrender.so.1 is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

/bin/ksh is needed by lgtoclnt-7.3.2-1

When I try to run some of these other modules which are not there I even get more dependency failures.

libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4) is needed by ksh-20060214-1.4

rtld(GNU_HASH) is needed by ksh-20060214-1.4

I have Legato working on this but I'm just wondering if any of you other folks are backing up your service consoles.

Thanks

We back ours up with TSM; no compelling reason other than to retain the config files... Is this for EMC Networker 7.3.x??? If so, did you install the backup enabler per http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_backup_guide.pdf?

Thanks Gary,

I tried that and the client installed ok. Now I'm trying to make sure I get it backed up.

Thanks
