Dell 1950 BIOS Upgrade

I just installed ESX 3.02 on our Dell Power Edge 1950 server. How do I upgrade the Server BIOS version with through the LINUX OS? Sorry, I am a Windows guy....

Thanks all -

Sean

Sean,

Use the floppy Disk option its really simple. Just reboot the server and follow the direction. I did it few weeks back and it was really easy.

Compressed files[/url]

Description: This file contains a compressed (or zipped) set of files. Download the file to a folder on your hard drive, and then run (double-click) it to unzip the set of files. Follow the instructions to create a set of floppy diskettes, and then use the diskettes to complete the installation.

HP has boot CDs for this - there should be something similar from Dell.

Your Dell Server comes with a BIOS update CD, or you can download the latest version of the firmware from Dells support site..
