Compatiability regarding two models of HP Blade Servers

Hi,

We're looking at adding another node to our cluster of existing HP ProLiant BL480c G1 servers with a ProLiant BL460c g1.

The processor series on the BL480c g1 are 5160 series. (single Quad core Xeon 3ghz)

The processor series on the BL460c g1 are 5345 series. (dual Quad Core Xeon 2.33ghz)

I can't find the guide which states whether this would cause a compatiablity issue or not?

Both blades are on the Vmware HCL, but cross-compatiablity between blades (running two different blade versions with slightly different CPU families) not sure?

Any ideas?

Answered my own question..

Can be done, is compatiable.

Need to enable CPU masking on the guests.

Done.

(ESX 3.0.3)

Enable EVC on cluster, everything will be ok.
