I am new to vmware. I have a basic question about the Virtual Center installation.I was going through the Installation and Upgrade guide ESX3.01 and Virtual Center 2.01 from Vmware documentation site.
Here in one of the section, for the installation of Virtual Center Server. It is mentioned that.
"Storage requirements can be larger if your database runs on the same hardware as the VirtualCenter Server machine. The size of the database varies with the number of hosts and virtual machines you manage. Using default settings for a year with 25 hosts and 8 to 16 virtual machines each, the total database size can consume up to 2.2GB (SQL) or 1.0GB (Oracle)."
My question what do they mean by host over here ?
Host = ESX Server
This calculator is a good tool to help size your db...
