2 x virtual centre's on one mssql 2005 ?

Basic question -

Im currently running a VCS with mssql 2005 and i want to add another VCS.

Is this possible without creating a seperate sql instance?

Thanks in advance

You can do this, but you'll need a seperate database for each VCS install. It would be best to also use a different SQL login for each VCS database to ensure that any upgrades don't accidentally access the wrong database.

Sorry, but I forgot about the SQL agent jobs that VC uses. 3 jobs are created and you would have to manually duplicate them for the 2nd database. But that might create some problem when it comes time to upgrade. You could install one instance of VC and then rename the jobs. Then install the 2nd instance and rename those jobs as well. You would then have to change the SQL agent job names back to the original names when running upgrades.
