Seems that new certifications are coming on Desktop Virtualization:
http://mylearn.vmware.com/portals/certification/
Actually only the first is available, in beta stage:
http://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=19733&ui=www_cert
To register for the beta exam (yes, this time the beta is open!) go on VUE site, VCP exam and choose the VCA-DT exam. Seems that all VUE testing centers can be used for this exam.

Thanks for the info Ander
Now there is also the official announce by VMware:

http://communities.vmware.com/thread/302087?tstart=0
Is it free?
Like each official exam, no.
The beta of VCA-DT has a fee (in my Country is around 55 Euro, no idea in other Country).
No exam or previous certification seems to be required
It is really useful, so may i ask about all Exams that VMware take?
Actually there are only the datacenter exams:
VCP, VCAP-DCA, VCAP-DCD
The Desktop Enterprise exams are quite new, and now there is only the beta for the first one.
For a list of VMware certification see also:

Thank u, it is very kind of u.
Is the current price with Pearson Vue (£50) because it is in beta or is it because it is at a lower level (associate)?
how long a beta test last available? 2 months?
thanks
No idea.
But you can see from VUE site (when no seats are available, then it means that the beta has finished).
Andre
The price in USA dollar is 75$, and as i know this price will not be changed after BETA complete
I have sit on this exam ysterday at PEX 2011, so now i am waiting for results.
Little Over of passing this exam this post in Russian but you can translate it on the blog

The beta period ends on February 20, 2011. The beta price is $75 (USD) but the non-beta price has not been announced yet.
Great, only 2 weeks for beta,as i see list time VMware make huge improvement in certification
A beta is a limited period. Two weeks could be enough (the DCD beta period was ONLY one week).
And it's a great improvment that this time was open to all.
Andre
Yes but peopel that have take DCD Beta reveace result after 1-2 mounth
I was one of them... two months.
I've post also my opinion on beta exams:
http://communities.vmware.com/people/AndreTheGiant/blog/2011/01/13/my-thoughts-on-beta-exams
This time, the only critique that can do (IMHO) is that there wasn't a good notice.
IMHO a new exam (also if is beta) must be notify some weeks before the exam date.
Andre
I hate to bring up such an old thread but did I was wondering if they have already done the beta for VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP-DT). I was fortunate enough to take part in the first two beta exams but never heard anything about this one the VCAP
I think no. And I suppose that you will receive the invitation also of the VCAP-DT beta exam.
I'm my case I also have receive the invitation for the first two beta, but unfortunately I was not able to take the VCP-DT exam (no available testing center "near" to me). So I do not not if I will get the invitation of the VCAP-DT beta exam.
