vSphere5: Install, Configure Manage valid for VCP410 (VCP4) exam?

If I have a colleague who has attended vSphere5: Install, Configure and  Manage course, does that count as a prerequisite to take the VCP410 exam  (VCP4) and the VCP510 exam (VCP5)?

Sorry if this scenario has been covered previously, but I have had a quick trawl through other threads and didn't come across this scenario.

Many Thanks. Ian.

The vSphere 5 course qualifies for VCP5, but NOT VCP4 - I don't think that should come as much of a surprise, as VMware certifications and courses are specific to the software version.

Scott.

Thanks, Scott. You're correct that it is not a big surprise. It seems his contact at IBM in Slovenia has advised him incorrectly, so thanks for the answer - I shall now deliver the bad news to him.

If he can change course and attend to a vSphere 4.x course, than he can take both VCP4 and VCP5 exam (but before end of Feb).
