Hi all,
I would like to get my first VCP (v5) but lack the funds to take one of the training classes. What is the minimum requirements and lowest cost training available in order to get a VCP?
thank you,
Michael
According to http://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=12457&ui=www_cert - theonly course that will qualify you for the VCP once you pass the class is VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V5.0]-

thanks... I guess I will have to find a way to do this course.
Can I take the exam before taking the course?

Yes, you can do this if you want. However, you will not be considered a VCP until you meet all the requirements.

Also have a look to see if you can do a VCP4 first with less expensive training, and then you can wite the VCP5 exam before the end of February without taking any other classes. This will require you to learn more (e.g. ESX as well as ESXi) but it migth be cheaper.

Just to add to that one, I'm sure the course expense would be much easier to justify to an employer if they knew you had already passed the exam and all they had to do was get you in the class in order to have a VCP on the books.
