What to do next ?

Hi All,

I passed my VCP-510 last week.

Going forward I'll like to take more VMware exams and get more certificates.

What are my options ?

Is there a common path that VMware professionals take ?

Any recommandation will help.

Cheers,

Welcome to the communtiy and congratulations - VMware Certification tracks are under review and assessment - The classic path starts with the VCP and then followed by the VCAP (VMware Certified Advance Professional) Data. There are two versions of this cert - Data Center Design (DCD) which covers the design best practices and methodology and the Data Center Administration (DCA) which covers advanced administratiion and troubleshooting. These exams are quite intense - imagine the VCP exam intensified. CUrrent;y there is only version 4 of these exam the Version 5 exams are under development. Once these are exams passed you are eligible to apply to submit a design to be considered for the ultimate VMware Cert - the VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) - This where you have to defend your design in front of a panel of other VCDX professionals.

VMware recently has comeout with a Desktop track as well - There are two certs at this VCA4-DT and VCP4-DT - The VCA4-DT is the entery level cert only requiring passing a exam. The VCP4-DT is more in depth and requires the applicant to be an existing VCP before you canpursue this track.

Here is a link where you can read more about these certifications - http://mylearn.vmware.com/portals/certification/?ui=www, I do not know for certain but I would assume VMware is working on certification track for Cloud Computing.

As written, it depends by your skills choose the Datacenter or Desktop paths.
