VMware Evaluation for Lab

I've downloaded the ESXi ISO (328 MB) and the VMware vCenter Server for Windows ISO (2.419 GB)... Should I burn a CD, with both ISOs on one disc or keep them separate across two discs?

Thanks,

Jelani

I don't think VMware sends out physical media. You just download everything from their website. Either way, I would keep them separate. One ISO per disc.

I guess you're building a physical lab if you want physical media?

If you need a bootable ESXi disc, you'll need to use a tool that can create bootable CDs/DVDs - with the files extracted from the .iso - make sense?

Something like this: http://www.winiso.com/support/tutorials/make-bootable-dvd.html

Yessir, Scott28tt! My plan is to build a physical lab. However, I'm uncertain if I should put the content from both ISOs on the same disc or not... If I purchased these items through VMware, would they send me out two separate discs...one containing ESXi and the other containing vCenter Server?

Good suggestion, ITaaP. I was thinking the same thing...just wanted to find out if my perspective was shared, by others.

Thanks,

As far as I know, VMware doesn't deliver physical media. You can burn ESXI image to USB or disk, You can also burn VCSA and Windows based VIM image to CD or you can mount it on VM to install.
