I'm studying for the VCP4 cert (taking it tomarrow), specificly the maximums doc and I found this...
VMDirectPath SCSI targets per virtual machine 60
What are they talking about? VMDirectPathing an HBA? And if so why would it have a limited number of maximum targets then a non-VMDirectPathed HBA?
You should gothropugh config max once again.
Virtual SCSI Tragets per VM is 60 and VMDirectPath PCi/PCIe evice per VIrtul machine is 4 refer below doc.
http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r41/vsp_41_config_max.pdf
VMDirectPath limits
VMDirectPath PCI/PCIe devices per host 8
VMDirectPath PCI/PCIe devices per virtual machine 4
Hi I'm a bit confused about the maximum values as well
I was reading this kb about vmdirectpath http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1010789 and it says you can have up to 2 pass throughs per vm?
Am I mixing up something obvious?
Seems 2 was the max in 4.0 and 4 is the new max in 4.1 http://communities.vmware.com/thread/320225?tstart=0

You must use this doc for the max:
http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r41/vsp_41_config_max.pdf
A KB could be old or refer to a old product.
PS: in any case don't worry... the actual exam seems to be a generic 4.x exam.
PS2: thread has been moved to VCP area.
