VCP5-DCV and vSphere 5.5 - does this cover new stuff?

Hi all,

I will have my VCP5-DCV exam on 9.12.2013. I was wondering if current version of exam covers new stuff introduced in vSphere 5.5? What about configuration maximus - which one should I be familiar with?

I asked my instructor during VMware What's New course and he said that VMware will ask about common thing across versions (5, 5.1, 5.5). Is that true?

Can someone who took exam after vSphere 5.5 release confirm this?

Well that is not reassuring. In my opinion there should be clear statement from VMware that they include new version in exam. This matters especially about configuration maximus.

I just checked Exam Blueprint and from it I don't see anything related to 5.5

Hi wmarusaik,

The VMware certifications are periodically updated with all the new changes in the technology. So you might find the updated questions about vSphere 5.5.

Always go with the exam blueprint, if it mentions 5.5 or points to 5.5 documents then you know the exam has been updated. It doesn't at the moment, so for now the exam is across 5.0/5.1
