VCP4

Hello,

I had taken “VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V41] on 27th Dec 2010 to 31st Dec 2010.

Now I want to know for which VCP I am eligible and the way to take the Exam.

Also, please let me know the validity of this course?

Thanks ,

Bharath

You are eligible for VCP 410 exam since it is still available and no retirement date has been announced yet

If you become certified VCP4 and want VCP5 title; then before 29th Feb 2012 you can go for exam without additional classes in order to get the VCP5 title

Validity: There is no retirement date for any exam as such

How do I achieve the VCP5 certification if I have taken a VCP4 qualifying class? VCP4 qualifying classes such as VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V4] only qualify you take the VCP4 exam.

You will first need to achieve the VCP4 certification and then sit for  and pass the VCP5 exam. Until February 29, 2012, there is no course  requirement to upgrade from VCP4 to VCP5.

You qualify for VCP4 certification, pass the VCP410 exam at any time until it retires (no retirement date announced yet) and you will be a VCP4.

If you want VCP5, you have two options:

1. Pass the VCP410 AND VCP510 exams before the end of February 2012.

2. Take the vSphere: What's New [v5] training and pass the VCP510 exam - there is no current deadline on this option.

If you miss the deadline for option 1 above, option 2 above will become your path to VCP5 regardless of whether you pass VCP410 or not.

Scott.
