VCP CLOUD CERTIFICATION

Hello

I am planning for VCP CLOUD certification, and if I look at career path on the site it says

Attend a qualifying course ie ( Vmware Vcloud Director : install, configure , Manage [5.1] and pass VCP-CLOUD  exam to get it.

So the question is do I have to VCP5-DCV certified before attending VCP CLOUD?

VCP CLOUD Prerequisites is compulsory or those are recommended

• VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V5.0]
• VMware vCloud Director: Essentials/Fundamentals [V5.1]
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking

Welcome to the Community - No you do not need to be a VCP5-DCV - According to http://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=32558&ui=www_cert if you are already a VCP5-DCV than you do not need to take a class and can sit for the exam and if you pass you will receive your VCP-Cloud cert - if your are not a VCP-DCV5 than you need to sit for one the required classes and pass the VCP-Cloud exam to become a VCP.

Weinstein almost explained it but If you are already explained it.

If you have VCP-DCV you will have to write VCP-IaaS(Covers vCloud,vCNS and chargeback) and you will achieve VCP-Cloud Status.

If you are not VCP-DCV you will have to attend

• vCloud Director: Install, Configure, Manage
• VMware vCloud: Deploy and Manage the VMware Cloud [V1.5]

And pass VCP-Cloud(Covers vSphere,vCloud,vCNS,Chargeback)

One of my friend is attended VCP4-DCV class but he does not given exam. so in his case what will be the path for VCP cloud ?

Your friend hasn't given VCP4-DCV or VCP-Cloud?

In your friend's case if he is VCP4-DCV

He can take one of the above courses that i just mentioned and write VCP-Cloud exam and become VCP-Cloud certified.

Or Take up vSphere what's new 5.1 and get VCP5-DCV certification and then write VCP-IaaS and get VCP-Cloud certification.
