Have a look at this page: https://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=63957&ui=www_cert
You're only scored on the questions selected for the final exam, which goes live as of August 30th - so you should find out by then at the latest.
Check your Prometric test history page for VMware daily. The test result will hit there first, even before VMware notifies you. Your beta exam result will change from taken to passed/failed.
I've been doing these beta exams for years now and this has always been the case. You won't find out weeks early, but you will find out before VMware would otherwise tell you.
Mine was set to expire August 26th and still waiting on those beta results. Was getting very worried, I authorized the 5.5 delta to see if I could cram in the exam in case I don't pass the beta. Glad I noticed your post and double checked my expiration date. Extended to October 31st as well!
here is what VMware support told me as of today 8/21/2015 :
Thank you for contacting VMware Education Support.
As I understand, you need information about the VCP6-DCV Beat exam results.
I would like to inform you that, we are finalizing the results of the Beta exam by this weekend and you will get an update at the earliest.
I apologize for the in-convenience.
Hope this resolves the query.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance from my end or if I can close the Support Request for you.
^ in other words you've waited months, wait some more.
At this point I don't expect any results until after VMworld (When the final is released). They should have never put the 8-10 weeks thing.
It sucks that they haven't released the results. They offer good discounts for taking the certification exams at VMworld and if I don't pass, it would have been nice to have some extra prep time and to have been able to retake the test.
Still without results.
more of it when you have exam in Status Taken, you cannot schedule new exam on the same Test.
VMware give the people, who recertify in the time before 15th March (first recertify deadline) the voucher for 60% off, but is valid until 31st August only. It can be only applicable to the new VCP6 exams (DT, CMA, DCV) but any of that is in GA still.
If the results have been send earlier, we can plan the new pass for 30th or 31st August and apply the voucher.
It is normal that there is no record that I took my Beta exam in mylearn page? I'm not asking about results (long waiting for that, I hope they come soon), I took the exam at May and never appeared at mylearn page, is this the normal behaviour?
It won't, unless you subscribed to the trainings plan through the partner portal. VUE / Prometric is the first sure which will have a record of a pass. The records will then be uploaded to VMware. It can then still take a day or two until mylearn is updated and sometimes you wait weeks for the email after that.
If keep an eye on the VUE / Prometric site first.
If I login to my VUE account it asks to enter a candidate ID like when you schedule an exam, no data for already done exams... Maybe I need to introduce my candidate ID for Beta Exam?
Well, today is the 30th. "We should hear by the 30th at the latest." Not very many hours left in the day. I hope something pops into my transcript.
Its August 31, no beta results yet and VMworld has started in San Fran. The GA exams of those beta's are going to be available at VMworld so what is the issue VMware? I hope the results come out before Christmas ( ) ; it's been a long wait and I think they can improve the process in the future.
Message from Certification "Support":
Please be informed that we have not yet received announcement date for
VCP6 result. Beta exam score reports are still being processed and
Unfortunately we do not have the estimated time.
I apologize for the in-convenience and would request you to wait for some
few weeks more.
If you have any questions for me, please let me know I will be glad to assist.
Have a great day ahead!
This starts to be funny. Have they hired single intern to go through all of these questions?
The end of the message is even better:
