Hi,
I passed my VCP 510 today with a great score and I have to say it was down to a lot of hard work, a decent home lab and Scott Lowe's book, "Mastering VMware vSphere 5" which has probably paid for itself several times over already - a must-buy for anyone wanting to achieve VCP 5 and work with vSphere. Thanks also to Simon Long for his blog - the exams were actually a good preparation for the real exam and worked well with VMware's own mock exam. Last but not least was the excellent course delivery and on-going support (for my VCP 4 taken a couple of months ago but which obviously helped for the VCP5 too) from Global Knowledge here in the UK and Scott Vessey's invaluable blog at http://vmwaretraining.blogspot.com.
Just typical that a few days before I take the exam, I end up with a fully loaded Dell R710 and Dell MD3220i sat on my desk waiting to be commissioned. I already had the R710 to work with but some time with the MD3220i would have helped with the exam preparation. As it was, I had to make do with an old Dell SC1425 server for my home lab's storage running first, FreeNAS and then OpenFiler. Still, at least I know all the theory on multi-pathing now so setting up the MD3220i should be easy!
