I passed the VCP 5 exam just prior to the 29 Feb deadline. I thought the exam was fairly tough and only ended up with a 370 - but I guess a pass is a pass!
Anyway, I was prevoiusly a VCP 3, but I'd attended the vSphere 5 What's New course a few months ago. I believe this was all that was required to successfully transition from a VCP 3 to 5. I've looked at my certifications on the portal, but still only see VCP 3.
How long does it take for it to be registered or do I have to confirm the What's New couse directly with VMware?
Yes you are qualified, read the following blog post by Scott Vessey, a VCI based out of the UK to explain it better.

Within 7-14 days you sould get an email from VMware directing you to you MyLearn to complete the VCP 5 Task that will be added to your MyTask - after that it will be about 4 weeks you will get the certifiucate and welcome kit in the mail.
Thanks. I thought for a minute that I'd missed other requirements for VCP 3 to 5.
It will take 2-3 week to receive your kit from certification@vwmare.com.
So just to clarify - there's nothing else I need to do as a VCP 3 other than take the VCP exam and had taken the vSphere 5 What's New course?
