Published success rates?

Hello,

I work for a community college and my CIO is wanting to send two of us in our IT department for VCP training and certification.  The kicker is that before she is willing to put the money up for training, she wants to know the success rate.  I know that there are a lot of factors that go in to this, but is there anything published that would help me out?

Thanks

No, but I can tell you from my experience as an instructor that most people pass first time. The cost of the exam is a lot less than the training in any case, so even if you need a couple of attempts it won't make a massive difference to the overall cost.

Make sure you review the exam blueprint thoroughly before attempting the exam - it will tell you the specific things you will be tested on, and it's not the same as the topics you'll get trained on.

You can find the blueprint on this page: http://www.vmware.com/go/vcp

There's other useful exam information on my blog, click the VCP5 tab: http://vmwaretraining.blogspot.com

There is no official data about the pass rate of VMware exams.

Somebody pass and somebody fails. Could depend of by the exam (for example VCP3 has become difficult in the last months), but usually depend only by the candidate preparation.

A big mistake is consider the course enough to pass the exam. You have to study and make more lab after (or before) the course to be prepared for the exam.
