Passed VCP510 yesterday

I failed the first time but it gave me an idea what to expect next time. Second time I passed with a 360. I studied using the blueprint, built a lab, re-read my books, and went into highlighter mode lol.

I took the ICM and optimize and scale class before taking the exam. I found the optimize and scale class very helpful and I had a wonderful teacher. If you are able to take that class, I say go for it.

Now I'm looking for pointers for VCAP-DCA. Has anyone taken the vSphere: Toubleshooting Workshop [V5.5] class or 5.1 class? I'm thinking about taking that class next if I'm able to. I thought this class might be very handy since the VCAP is a lab based exam. Any other pointers are welcome too

Congrats, and good luck with VCAP-DCA, personally I haven't taken any classes for it because my day is job vSphere SME, however, Pluralsight has a lot of good CBT, Jason Nash videos are really really good.  I would definitely recommend checking out Pluralsight.

Congrats Kirra! I was devastated the first time but got my voucher right away and scheduled it three weeks later. Yesterday must have been our luck day . That and lots of studying ...

I might not take the VCAP until the beginning of next year but I figured I start studying now. How about you? When do you think you'll take it?

I saw that the Optimize and Scale class was recommended for VCAP but I feel that it covers some information for the VCP. I don't think it's go over everything needed for the VCAP. The troubleshooting class looked pretty interesting.

VFK, I was looking at Pluralsight for VCP and got to view some videos for a trial. If it has a good course for VCAP I might subscribe to it then.

It has a vcap-dca videos by Jason Nash, but these are for 5.0 exams, if you are planning to take the 5.5 you will need to practise the new objective, but most of the blueprint should remain the same and general concepts are covered quite well.

First time I failed I failed with a 279, wasn't devastated just knew I needed to improve. So focused on my weak points and then got certified Smiley Happy

I won't be doing the VCAP till early next year either, just gonna slowly start studying for it. Will probably do my CCNA or a MS cert in the meantime.

The video's vfk linked, im considering subscribing. I used the "TrainSignal - VMware vSphere Optimize and Scale (VCAP5-DCA)" videos for my VCP and they helped a lot. I believe these were based on 5.0.

Whatever training resources (class, video, book) you make use of, but sure to refer to the blueprint for the version of the exam that you take - and get that lab built to get maximum hands-on!!
