Passed VCA-DCV and VCA-Cloud, working on VCP 550.

As the title says, I passed VCA-DCV and VCA-Cloud.

It disheartens me that the official VMware courses do not cover everything in the blueprint and was looking for a study guide or book that contains everything one needs to study to pass the VCP550 exam (in addition to the official VMware documentation).

Would you recommend Mastering VMware vSphere 5.5 by Scott Lowe and Nick Marshall as sufficient study material? I stumbled upon it and it seems pretty comprehensive.

Thanks.

Shameless self-promotion here  - my book from Sybex has been updated to cover the VCP-550 exam. It covers every single objective for this exam, but supplementing with the official VMware documentation and the Mastering book would certainly help you be even more prepared. Good Luck on the VCP!

Nothing wrong with self-promotin as far as I'm concerned Smiley Wink

I took a look inside and I noticed you typically show the interface of the vSphere client (not the web client). Does the exam not cover the web client?

Thanks!

Brian () wrote two Study Guides. The new Study Guide - which focuses on the vSphere 5.5 exam - mainly shows the Web Client UI, except for topics which aren't supported by the Web Client yet, like ESXi installation, Update Manager, Maps, ...

Yes, e-books are available. More info on them can be found at Wiley's site. Thanks!

Thanks virtual_knight, I had also stumbled upon that guide a while back but it doesn't seem to be updated for the VCP550 exam. Do you agree?

Hi VRBitman ,

Sorry I haven't looked at the delta for 550, I know from a product & features perspective there weren't lot of changes on a relative note of the delta between 5.0 & 5.1(particularly SSO architecture).

Key changes in my opinion would be Configuration Maximum/Minimums were upgraded ,minor Storage and network enhancements.

If I come across any specific guidelines,  I will revisit this thread.
