Hello,
By any chance, has vmware extended the deadline for VCP-510 to upgrade from VCP4.0 ? How to validate that the exam is not available ?
Thanks,
5Not according to the website - http://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=12457&ui=www
There was not a special update exam - it was the standard VCP 510 exam - haveing missed the 2/29/12 deadline you will now need to take at least the What's New Class and pass the VCP 510 to become a VCP
No it has not, look here: http://www.vmware.com/go/vcp
VCP4 holders now have to attend at least the 2-day vSphere 5: What's New official training to qualify for VCP5 certification, and pass the VCP510 exam of course.
No, they have not. this is the first time that VMware have actaully give a 6month period to upgrade. previously it was approx 3 months and then extended, but this time it was 6 months from the start.
Unfortunately if you did not sit and pass the exam before the 29th Feb you will not have to sit the 2 day what's new course.
I hope vmware can extended the deadline once...
Sorry but I would not hold your breath, as already stated VMware gave a 6 month grace period this time that is longer than they have on any previous upgrade.
That's incredibly unlikely to happen now - the only previous extensions were on a 3-month deadline where people could not get booked into testing centres to take the new exam - and the deadline was extended before the original deadline had passed.
