Can i take VCP5-DT directly without training if i have VCP3

Hello, I was checking the pre-requisite in the VMware certification site and it said I need to attend a training or hold a valid VCP.

I hold VCP-310 certification, can I take up VMware Certified Professional 5 - Desktop (VCP5-DT) without any traning?

Please confirm.

I think you can, thanks to the recent policy on recertification - have a look here: Recertification Policy

I would suggest dropping an email to certification@vmware.com to confirm.

Yes, due to the new recertification policy, as long as your VCP3 certification is valid (and it should be through March 10, 2015) you can take the current VCP5-DT exam without having to take a course first.
