Barely Missed VCP5 Exam -- When to retake?

Hello all,

A fairly simple question but still not clear:

I took the VCP5 exam on Monday, barely missed it (Don't get me started on some of the questions) -- Can I retake it NEXT Monday or do I have to wait til NEXT Tuesday?

7 days is tracked.. how?

there is a minimum 7 day waiting period, so you would be able to retake on a week to the day, ie if you took the exam on a Tuesday you would be allowed to site the exam Tuesday the week after.  it is physical days not working days.

I hope that helps

7 days between takes - Pearson's system should be tracking it so whenever it lets you retake.

As you planning on continuing to prepare blueprint objectives?

Thanks all for this. I passed my second try 8 days after.

Honestly, I don't know if I want to type out my true feelings about the exam on these forums but let's just say I've been a hands on VM Admin for going on 8 years (Since 2.x) and I found most of the questions to be either vague, not applicable or just plain trickery.

I realize VMware needs to protect their exams but as far as feedback goes, 99% of my customers OR myself don't use or configure the features on the exam. Sad really. Either way, I appreciate this communities help!

Congratulations on passing your resit,  to be fair to VMware the test is not a test to test the most used features, it is a test of the BluePrint.  if you want an advanced admin test, then you should look at the VCAP DCA.  this is a hands on real world lab based exam.  you work throught the scenarios on a RDP session attached to a LAB (I think in PaloAlto).  this exam is rigorous and fair.  The VCP is like most entry level exams, a compendium of questions to test breadth of knowledge, not depth of knowledge
