Excellent stuff.  Since this was announced over 13 months after vSphere 5 went GA, will the time to submit/defend a VCDX5 extend at least that long past whenever the next major vSphere version goes GA?

Going forward VCDX Certifications will iterate closer to relevant software release dates. To me an example of an ideal timeline would be if a new version of vSphere is announced at VMworld and GA is in September - a VCDX-DV Program update should also be announced at VMworld and a defense schedule for the next iteration should be available at PEX-US.

The period of overlap, when 2 versions of the certification are available concurrently, will be determined by a number of factors including:

The availability and lifecycle of prerequisite exams;

Customer demand;

Market conditions in the individual geographical regions where VMware and our partners conduct their business.

The error you are seeing usually means you had duplicate myLearn accounts at one time and they are now merged. If this is the case, logging in with a different username (email account) should solve the problem.
