I am happy to announce that my colleague Mark Brunstad will be taking over the role of VCDX Program Manager, effective March 1, 2012. (My appointment in the role was always temporary, and I'll be returning to my day job as VMware's education services product manager full-time.)
Mark is a 7-year VMware veteran and (naturally!) VCP holder. Like me, here at VMware, he's been a technical trainer, course developer, and curriculum development manager. Prior to VMware, he was a Member of Technical Staff at Hill Associates, where he helped develop and deliver curriculum-based technical training and certification programs at Verizon, BellSouth, Qwest, PacBell, and Motorola (among others). He and his family live in New Hampshire, USA.
Mark shares my vision for the VCDX program. We want every qualified person around the world to achieve the title, so that it is an elite certification but not an elitist certification. We want to improve the scope of the program, so that it is relevant to all the technologies VMware's driving today. We want to improve the benefits of the program, so that the rewards of becoming a VCDX grow over time.
I encourage all of you to follow @MarkBrunstad on Twitter. Also, in this forum, post your thoughts on how to improve VCDX. There's also been a recent trend of VCDX candidates, both successful and unsuccessful, blogging about their experiences, and we want this to continue. (Naturally, don't forget your confidentiality agreements.)
Mark will be at VMware's Partner Exchange next week in Las Vegas, and he'll look forward to meeting many of you there.
Thanks to all of you for the kind support you've shown me in my time in this role. I'll still be involved with the program, assisting Mark and his teammates in any way I can.
Welcome! See you @ PEX!
I am afraid I will be missing PEX but congratulation on the new position Mark!
Welcome, Mark. I look forward to meeting you at PEX.
Brian, he's got some big shoes to fill
Brian,
It was a pleasure meeting you in Singapore, and I look forward to meeting Mark (hopefully) at the VCDX defense session in Toronto in May.
Shane.
Thank you for the introduction Brian.
As many have noted there are some very big shoes to fill here, but the momentum Brian has built and the vibrant community behind this program make it a unique opportunity - I am very excited to begin my stewardship of VCDX!
If you are attending PEX, please introduce yourselves and we can talk about the program.
Welcome and congrats.
Unfortunately this year I will not attend at the PEX event.
But I hope that there are similar opportunities also the VMworlds.
Welcome aboard Mark. I will not be at PEX - but perhaps out paths will cross one day.
