Full Fictitious Design or partial fictitious

Hello,

Right now I have been preparing my design application to Frankfurt on next February. My question is: What's the best option?

Send a real scenario which does not meet all requirements and use fictitious itens to address these lack of requirements or send a full fictitious scenario prepared by myself addressing all the requirements and address all the best practices because on that I will not have a real costumer with its constraints which many times  we need to get off some best practices because some political or economical assumption of the costumer.

I always find it easier to talk about the reality of the implementation. Talking about what you have done is easier because you had to go through the compromise process to reach the outcome. I would use a real design and fill in the missing bits, hopefully with bits from other real world designs.

Both are possible.

But you must know really well your design and project, so maybe a real project could help.

Of course, if it not cover all the design requirement you can improve it.

I will echo the need to KNOW your design intimately. You will need to know all of the requirements and constraints and how they influenced your design. It will be difficult to intimately know your design if you were not closely involved in the entire process from assessment through planning to implementation. Adding fictitious parts to an existing design could potentially cause you confusion between the real and fake parts of the design during your defense. To me anyway, this statement means that you have been through more than one design process with more than one customer. Actually, the more designs you have done, the "less difficult" it gets. If you do not have experience in multiple design exercises and you still wish to pursue the VCDX, I would suggest finding a VCDX in your area who is willing to assist you with the fictitious design aspects by acting as a customer so that you can go through the steps logically and possibly more intimately know your design.
