I am having VCP5-DCV (VCP550) certification so in order to do any VCAP level certification i must have to do vcp6-dcv first. is it correct

From your question I think you're asking about VCAP6 certifications.

To get from a VCP5 to a VCAP6 you will need to either "upgrade then step up" or "step up then upgrade" - here's what I mean:

Option 1 (path 1 here is an example)

Gain your VCP6-DCV

Gain a VCAP6

Option 2 (path 1 here is an example)

Gain a VCAP5

Gain a VCAP6

hi, I have VCP 5.5 that will expired in NOV-2016, i want to appear VCAP-DCD 6  Before Nov-2016 . Can i do it or first i needed to upgrade to VCP 6 then to VCAP 6-DCV Design  ?

If this is right then i am unhappy with vmware !!!!

How to upgrade for VCP 6 ? only VCP foundation exam is enough or needed to qualify VCP6 DCV as a prerequisite to appear in  VCAP-DCV Desing.

thanks.

You only have til June 24th for Option 2 to be valid as the VCAP5-DCD exam retires on that date.

If you take Option 1, Path 1 on this page will give you the exam information: VCP6-DCV Certification

As i hold VCP5-DCV certification what u think go with Delta Exam  is better then to do  VCP6-DCV exam ?

secondly after giving given delta exam can i appear for VCAP6 -DCD or VCAP 6 -DCA ? thanks Scott for your support.

Yes you should consider the "delta" exam - it should be the simplest route to VCP6-DCV for you.

The VCAP certifications for v6, and what they replace are:

VCAP6-DCV Design - the new version of VCAP5-DCD

VCAP6-DCV Deploy - the new version of VCAP5-DCA

If you achieved both of the VCAP6-DCV certifications you would also be a VCIX6-DCV and eligible for VCDX6-DCV.

Have a look here for the full DCV framework: Data Center Virtualization Certification Solution Track Page

But start with the VCP6-DCV delta exam, as above.

Thanks scot for your kind help, i read your other post

2V0-610 vs 2V0-610D

Which shows there is no huge differance to go with 2v0-610D or Complete 2V0-610 exam. what u think if i  go with 2V0-610 ? price and Study material are almost same ?

thanks.

I don't personally see the point in taking 621 when you have the option of 621D - why choose an exam that has more questions and takes longer to do?
