just Finish VCP5-DCV. choose VCAP-DCA or VCAP-DCD

Hi Everyone!!!

I just finished my VCP5-DCV certification.

Now I want to prepare the next one, but i'm not sure if start with VCAP-DCA or VCAP-DCD?

Can you help me to choose what is the better certification?

If I were you I'd choose whichever one was closest to what I do, or what I want do...

Are you more hands-on, or are you more design/architect? If you're both, take your pick!

As Scott it depends on the job which you are currently working, If you are more into Administration you can work toward DCA as this requires lot of hands on the product and the exam is based on the lab, whereas DCD exposure to design will be added advantage while preparing and taking the exam.

If you planning VCDX in mind then you need to pass both..

I am going to throw another vote in for do what comes easy... I am a systems admin and found the DCA to be a fun test to take... just like another day at the office... while the DCD has lot of architecture stuff that required more study.

Depends on what you do.

IMHO I find the DCA a reasonable step after the VCP... you can make experience with the product...

DCD require a lot of experience NOT ONLY on the product, but on the entire architecture, including storage, networking, ....
